Manitowoc Beverage Systems wins NRA 2010 Kitchen Innovation Award for new Multiplex Blend-in-Cup dispensing system
February 12th, 2010
New Port Richey, Fla. – Feb. 12, 2010 – New product innovation is a key factor in keeping the foodservice industry running at peak performance. Equipment manufacturers push toward products that consume less energy and water, can cook foods quicker, store foods more safely, and help operators meet customer expectations during peak times. Each year, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) recognizes trend-setting kitchen equipment from around the world with their prestigious Kitchen Innovation award.
This year, Multiplex’s new Blend-in-cup (BiC) beverage dispensing system will be receiving a Kitchen Innovation Award. All winners will be showcased with live interactive demonstrations in the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion during the National Restaurant Show in May 2010.
The Blend-in-Cup dispenser is designed to automatically portion and dispense blended beverages “in the cup”. It is a highly configurable system that can create a wide variety of flavored drink products using ice, syrup and/or dairy based ingredients thus enabling an end user to provide a beverage destination for its customers. The unique system offers a single work station and small footprint that minimizes labor, simplifies operations, optimizes and controls food costs, and reduces the need for multiple pieces of equipment. All ingredients are onboard in a refrigerated cabinet– including the ice machine, and a touch screen that allows operators to manage inventory and control operational procedures.
“Each member of our panel of judges has the hands-on experience to recognize true innovation, which is what makes our KI program so exciting. These products will make restaurants run faster, smoother and more efficiently, which will result in better customer service and higher quality food,” said Ira Cohn, convention chair for NRA Show 2010 and president of Aramark Business and Industry Group. “Selecting the right equipment for a restaurant kitchen is crucial to creating and serving safe, nutritious and delicious meals.”
